ABOUT Le Guin
At 88 years old, Ursula Le Guin is definitively a living legend. Products of her detailed and imaginative mind is equal in capability as J.R.R Tolkien and and the Bronte sisters (Charlotte and Emily). Sandra M. Gilbert and Susan Gubar say the following of Le Guin's writing "Extending the boundaries of genre so that science fiction could explore the problems and possibilities of human society with a new intensity, she created imaginary characters who allowed her to raise important questions about the modes and morals of her own world" (941). Some of her works include The Left Hand of Darkness, "She Unnames Them", A Wizard of Earthsea, Dancing at the Edge of the World, "Sur". and plenty other publications throughout her life. Of which she pulls in themes revolving around politics, how human culture impacts the human, and consequences of human sexual identity. Currently, Le Guin lives in the remote country side near Portland, Oregon with her husband Charles A. Le Guin.
